![]() I have just this year started using Komplete Kontrol for soft synths, and since they have the audio effects side, I thought there would be a live audio input as well but sadly no. I agree its a bit of a hassle to setup, and I can’t believe there was no FX AU/VST version of Komplete Kontrol made to put on audio tracks. If your using Logic Pro then you can also use the Apple plugins AUNetSend and AUNetRecieve in the same way.Īnother option is use Source-Nexus 1.2 VST and it inputs from the audio interface or sound card, but its $295 Note: When loading Sendit be sure to use the same format, meaning if you are using Logic pro, load AU in Element as well as the audio track, or if you are using VST on the audio track make sure you have VST loaded on the receiver otherwise it will crash.ĭDMF Metaplugin demo installs the free plugin Sendit as well When I play guitar I just create another audio track and bus the audio from the Komplete Kontrol instrument track to the audio track and record, also saving as a template or channel strip so you don’t have to set it up is how I use it, just load and play. (You can mute the audio track and use input monitoring or use the record enable so there is no double audio) Lets say you are using Logic Pro, you would load Komplete Kontrol as normal on an instrument track, then loading the Kush Element vst as your instrument in Komplete Kontrol, then in the Element plugin you would load Sendit, select Recieve and connect it to the audio output module.Ĭreate an audio track and add Sendit to your effects and select send and PassThru, your audio track should now play from Komplete Kontrol, now you can add the effects. I have used this method in Logic Pro x, FL Studio and Studio One. There is a simple work around using free plugins Kushview Element vst and DDMF Sendit. Yes you can use Komplete Kontrol plugin for effects on audio tracks as well as live input. Wow, that turned into to way more of a rant than I expected.Īnyway yeah, effects on audio tracks are still not posibble. ![]() Maybe one day hopefully, but I think people are more interested in dirt cheap clones of basic analog synths than they are in advanced technology that bridges the gap between hardware and software. I don't regret my purchase though because it's still a nice keyboard and it enabled me to get a great discount on some awesome software, and most sad of all, there really isn't much else out there that's any better. It can do much more than that but it is cumbersome and limited to the point of frustration so mostly I'm back to using my trusty old mouse (yes, the height of interactive software control is still a design from 1968). It is little more than a glorified preset scroller and sadly that is mostly what I use it for now. It seems like this is where we should've been at least 10 years ago.īut then again, what do I know, I'm just a musician.Ĭlick to expand.Unfortunately it is still not possible.Īfter having used Komplete Kontrol for well over a year now I can safely say that it is severely lacking and ultimately fails at what it is trying to accomplish (or at least what it could accomplish). It just blows my mind that this is as far as we've come with hardware control of software. And the sad part is that I still think it's the best thing of its kind on the market. The more I dig into Komplete Kontrol, the more I'm starting to realize that a lot of it is really half baked. I'm much better off loading Guitar Rig in its own FX slot in Logic and using midi learn if I want. But even then the GUI is limited (and can't be changed) and there is no way to access additional components. The only thing you can do is load a preset. Well it seems like it's no big loss anyway because the implementation on even NI's own effects is very poor.įor example, I brought up Guitar Rig and the default GUI just says "no component loaded," but there is no way to load a component from the keyboard and for some bizarre reason you can't bring up the full GUI like you can with other plugins (the options under view are grayed out).
